F.A.Q.
IS THE HOSTEL FAR FROM THE CENTER ?
Like in any city, the center is not a spot but rather an aera. The center area in Chihuahua starts at a mere 5 minutes walk from the hostel.
2 of the main 3 attractions of the city are at a 5 minutes walk : the Pancho Villa museum (Museo de la Revolucion) and the Quinta Gameros.
To reach the "zocalo", that is the only cathedral of the city, you need to walk for 15 minutes from the hostel.
Bottom line : we are close enough to walk to the center, but far enough to stay away from the noise.
IS THE HOSTEL OPEN AT NIGHT ?
We found out that a hostel with a 24/24 reception is a nightmare for the people who want to sleep, and late arrivals in dorms usually wake up everyone.
This is the reason why we do not accept any check in after 12 am, and the reception closes at the same time.
Now, guests who have already checked in can come back at night at any time, but are simply requested to respect the one who sleep and do not switch any light on.
DO YOU WELCOME OLDER PEOPLE ?
Of course, we welcome older people as they have lots of experience to share. It should be noted though that the job of receptionist is not
to provide a conversation like a bar tender would do. That means customers wo are looking for someone to listen to their personal life
should look for some-one else.
DO YOU WELCOME PETS ?
Nop, sorry, no pets in the hostel for obvious reasons. We love pets and have some ourself, but at home, not at the hostel
CAN I COOK AT YOUR HOSTEL ?
Mexican food is amazingly good and cheap, so we do not have any kitchen. Camping gaz or portable kitchens are not allowed, since all our furniture are made of pine wood.
CAN I SMOKE AT YOUR HOSTEL ?
Sorry, no smoking of any kind at our hostel.
SHALL I BOOK IN ADVANCE ?
Some days we are full, some days we are not, so, since we are a small hostel, we would advise you to book.
IS THERE A MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM STAY ?
No minimum stay, 3 days maximum as we are aiming at true travellers only.
DO YOU TAKE CREDIT CARDS ? DO YOU ACCEPT DOLLARS OR EUROS ?
We do not take credit cards, we do accept dollars (20 dollars notes or smaller) and euros (20 euros notes or smaller). Rate of exchange obviously varies, and we may not give you
a rate as good as the bank. Guess why ? Because we have to queue for you at the bank :-)
ARE YOUR PRICES NEGOCIABLE ?
We want to be fair and give the same price to everyone, black, yellow, red, or white, Mexicans or foreigners, etc... So prices are printed on the board, and are not negociable.
ARE MUSEUMS OPEN ALL WEEK LONG ?
Some museums are closed on Monday, others on Tuesday. Sometimes museums are also closed during the siesta time :-)
SHALL I TAKE ANTI-MALARIA TABS FOR MEXICO ?
Hey, we are not doctors. Ask yours before going to Mexico :-)
CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL IN YOUR HOSTEL
Sorry, we decided not to purchase the alcohol license, so any alcohol is strictly prohibited in the hostel (that includes the bedrooms), or we would face the risk
to see our place closed. We are quite strict on this one. You can always drink some cheep beers in a bar or a restaurant closeby.
IMPORTANT : We have young ladies in our dorms and care a lot for their safety, so any drunk person will see the access to the hostel refused and there will not be any reimbursement.
